Ali Kurr (National Youth Film Academy ‘Emerging Brit’, 2019) is a British-Polish director based in London. Her music videos for artists including Loyle Carner, Poppy Ajudha and Connie Constance have seen her nominated at the UK Music Video awards and named VEVO’s ‘One To Watch’. In 2020, Ali directed two adverts for Sport England’s acclaimed ‘This Girl Can’, which saw her win a prestigious D&AD wood pencil. Recently, Ali has written and directed videos for Rina Sawayama’s ‘Hold The Girl’ album, with a nomination for her queer-poly-pop-mash-up of a film, ‘This Hell’ at the 2022 MTV VMAs. Since 2012, Ali has directed a wide range of talent from Bollywood icons including Ranbir Kapoor to Netflix breakout star Simone Ashley (Bridgerton, Sex Education). Ali’s first short, ‘Sparrow’, an acute retelling of two lovers on holiday starring Simone Ashley and Catriona Stirling, opened BFI Flare’s ‘Calm Before the Storm’ screening and won at Underwire festival.
